About GMG
Golden Men's Group (GMG) began in October 2021 as a volunteer initiative, built on a shared commitment to support men's mental health and well-being. For 3 years, the group operated informally—holding space, building connections, and fostering resilience—before officially becoming a registered society in December 2024.
We serve Golden, BC and the surrounding area—a rural, isolated region in the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District, stretching from Parson to Donald and Field. With a population of about 10,000, access to mental health support can be limited, especially for men. GMG is here to help bridge that gap.
By empowering men with tools for self-awareness, emotional resilience, and peer support, we help foster healthier homes, workplaces, and communities. We believe that a stronger foundation for men's well-being creates positive ripple effects throughout Golden and beyond.
We respectfully acknowledge that Golden and the surrounding area are located on the traditional and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa Nation. We also recognize the Secwepemc People, who have historically traveled through this region to hunt, gather, and sustain their communities throughout the seasons. We honour the Métis Nation Columbia River Society, who continue to call this area home today.
